The 2015-16 basketball schedule for the Air Force Falcons will feature an much more difficult non-conference schedule than in past seasons as the team will travel to face both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Colorado Buffaloes. On top of those two Power 5 Conference teams, the Falcons also travel to Southern Illinois as part of the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge, Denver and UC-Davis.
The home slate for the Falcons features Western Athletic Conference powerhouse New Mexico State and service academy rival Army. Air Force has played the Black Knights the past four years as part of the All-Military Classic, but that tournament was disbanded and Army is now part of a home and home contract. With Army already on board with scheduling, the Falcons and Head Coach Dave Pilipovich are trying to get Navy on the schedule to form a Commander-in-Chief type competition on the hardwood to match the highly visible football agreement. Army and Navy are both part of The Patriot League in basketball.
As far as the conference schedule goes, the Falcons drew a favorable break by only playing last year's co-champions Boise State and San Diego State once. The Falcons host Boise State on February 6th and travel to face the Aztecs on February 13th. Air Force opens their conference schedule on January 2nd with a home date against San Jose State. Times and television schedule has not been announced as of yet.
