The Boise State Broncos picked up their second verbal commit for the 2016 class when three-star wide receiver Derrion Grim (Ronald E. McNair/Stockon, California) verbally committed during his visit for junior day and also to see one the spring scrimmage.
Grim committed in person on Monday before he hit the road for the nine-hour car drive back to California.
"I was actually surprised," Grim told the Idaho Press-Tribune. "Coach [Bryan] Harsin pulled me into his office and offered me. I wasn't expecting it. I was about to commit right then and there, but I decided to talk it over with my parents.
"I was still in Boise earlier Monday so I went back to the facility and talked with the coaches in person. I told coach Harsin that I needed to talk to him and we walked into the office and I said I wanted to commit before it was too late."
The Broncos were also is first FBS offer, Sacramento State and Eastern Washington were the other schools to offer a scholarship.

Grim is a 5-foot-11 speedy wide receiver played in only five games in 2014 and in that time caught 36 passes and hauled in 10 touchdowns for 637 yards. He played in five games due to the high school transferring process and other schools wanted to see more before offering him a scholarship.
This is a case of Boise State offering a prospect early and getting in on the ground floor before other programs that waited to see what Grim could do in a full season. The Broncos apparently saw enough in those five games and made the offer on a potentially big time recruit.
Other offers will come in during his senior year, but Grim wants to make it known that Boise State is where he wants to play college football.
"Boise State has been my dream school for a while," Grim said. "I already knew if they offered me that they'd be my No. 1 school."
Here are highlights from the five games that Grim played during his junior year.
