2016 Colorado State football recruiting: Three-star QB Matt Lynch now a soft verbal

QB Matt Lynch is a long time commit verbal commit for Colorado State, but he is now a soft verbal after the coaching changes.

Quarterback Matt Lynch committed early on April 20, 2014 to Colorado State but the coaching change of Jim McElwain leaving for Florida and Mike Bobo coming in from Georgia has changed things. At this point, the three-star Broomfield, Colorado, quarterback would be considered a soft verbal for the Rams.

"I just felt like with a different coaching staff at CSU," Lynch told Rivals. "I wanted to get to know them first and keep my options open. I committed to the first offer I got from CSU. I kind of wanted to re-open it and give myself a chance to go somewhere to see if I like it."

Colorado State is still his only offer Lynch and he is still highly considering firming up his commitment to the Rams and he has met with the new staff.

"It was good. I got to meet the new coaching staff," Lynch said via Gold and Green News. "They took me in and made me feel like one of them. We just toured the facilities again and got to meet the coaches.

"They've just been saying with them getting in a bunch of players, they don't really know who they'll have. They want to offer (sign) two quarterbacks for 2016, but if they get into spring ball and find out they're only gonna need one, they'll just sign one quarterback.

"I have a high interest in them," Lynch said. "Honestly, I'm just so up in the air right now. I don't really know where I want to go, although I have a high interest in CSU. It's just going to take a lot of thinking."

That thinking has Lynch taking a visit to Washington and attends to go to the Elite 11 camp in Oregon this summer. A few of the teams that are going after Lynch are Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Wyoming and Kansas State.

Here are highlights of Lynch from his junior season.
