Wyoming made it to the NCAA tournament after winning the Mountain West tournament over San Diego State, and that was the only way they were to make it into the field. As for Wyoming's opponent Northern Iowa, they were in regardless if they won or loss their conference tournament, but they ended up winning the Missouri Valley and have a 30-3 record, pretty good.
Northern Iowa vs. Wyoming
Northern Iowa vs. Wyoming
Both teams have a similar style of play wanting to play a low scoring game and few possessions. One big difference between these two teams is that Wyoming does not have a deep bench and goes maybe eight deep, but Northern Iowa has nine players who average 13 minutes.
Wyoming is not the typical 12 seed with Larry Nance back at full health, so an upset by the Cowboys could fall into the trend of being a trendy upset pick despite this may not be too much of an upset. For Wyoming to get the upset they need Nance, Josh Adams and one other player to step up and contribute with the scoring.
