LAS VEGAS – Wyoming tops San Diego State to win its first Mountain West basketball title on Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys were led by Larry Nance, Jr. who had 14 points, with 12 in the first half. San Diego State had to play catch up after trailing 17-5 but they were able to comeback to make this a game.
The game came down to a San Diego State taking an ill-advised three-point shot by Aqell Quinn with seven seconds left, and it missed giving Wyoming their first ever Mountain West basketball title.
Tournament MVP was Josh Adams of Wyoming and he hit a clutch three to put Wyoming up by two points late in the game.
