LAS VEGAS – Aztec fans are chanting Dwayne Polee III's name to the tune of "Ole, Ole." They have every right to be: Polee has kept the Aztecs in front with a huge 12-point half and San Diego State is leading the Rams 24-18 at the half.
The Aztecs have kept the Rams to shooting 28% from the field. J.J. Avila was kept out of tonight's matchup, and that leaves Colorado State without player leadership on the court. Daniel Bejarano, who had 19 points last night, currently has zero points, but has collected six rebounds.
Tiel Daniels is keeping the Rams in this game, scoring six points and two rebounds, but the team as a whole needs to step up if they want to meet their arch-rivals Wyoming in the Mountain West Championship game.
On a side note: Malik Pope has left the game with an apparent injury, it remains to be seen if he comes back in the second half.
With one half left to play, this game is far from over and absolutely nobody should be changing their television at this point. Stay tuned for more...
