After leading his team to victories over perennial conference powers in New Mexico and Wyoming, Air Force Falcons senior forward Marek Olesinski has been named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week. It is Olesinski's first time to earn this honor.

Olesinski was instrumental in both the victories this past week. Against New Mexico, Olesinski lead the Falcons in scoring with 18 points along with three rebounds, two assist and a steal in the 53-49 win. It was an especially sweet victory for Olesinski, who is from Roswell, New Mexico. Beating the home state school was a huge moment in the week for the Falcon senior.

But the week would get even better Saturday for Olesinski and the Falcons. In the victory over Wyoming, Olesinski played a great overall game, especially in the second half. Olesinski would finish with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assist and one steal. Olesinski hit two big three-pointers in the second half as the Falcons would pull away from Wyoming in the Air Force huge 73-50 upset victory.

This is the second time this season an Air Force player has been named player of the week. Max Yon won the award earlier in the season. The Falcons will be relying on Yon and Olesinski to continue to play at a high level, as they have a tough week with a trip to Boise State on Wednesday and then hosting UNLV on Saturday.
