College Basketball Rankings: San Diego State is only Mountain West team receiving votes in latest AP poll

A big week earns SDSU a big jump in the rankings.

The San Diego State Aztecs (20-6, 10-3 Mountain West) find themselves ranked 27th in the latest AP top 25 poll after a week with big wins against Wyoming and Colorado State. They received 64 votes and No. 26 Texas received 70. VCU, at No. 25, got 109 votes.

SDSU is ranked 25th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, 23rd in RPI and 28th in Ken Pomeroy's rankings. It travels to New Mexico and San Jose State this week.

The Colorado State Rams (21-5, 8-5 MW) split their games last week -- a win at home against UNM and a loss at SDSU -- and didn't receive any votes this week.

CSU is ranked 37th in the USA Today Coaches Poll with one vote, 27th in RPI and 68th in Ken Pomeroy's rankings. It travels to Fresno State and hosts Air Force this week.

The Boise State Broncos also earned one vote in the coaches poll.

The Kentucky Wildcats remained atop the AP poll, and the Virginia Cavaliers hung on to the No. 2 spot after beating Wake Forest by the slimmest of margins on Saturday.
