Boise State football recruiting: Three-star LB Matt Locher flips from Cal Poly

Linebacker Matt Locher switched his commitment from Cal Poly to Boise State.

Boise State landed another verbal commitment when three-star linebacker Matt Locher (Los Alamitos, California) flipped his commitment from Cal Poly to Boise State after his official visit this past weekend.

Locher committed to Cal Poly on Jan. 21 and received an offer from Boise State on Jan. 28 and the visit on Jan. 30 changed his mind.

For a three-star player his offer list is not overly impressive with Air Force, Harvard, Yale, Navy and Fresno State.

Locher being a three-star recruit and not being recruited by bigger schools is shocking, and even more so when looking at his film and stats. He had 155 total tackles which averaged  out to 14.1 tackles per game in his senior season; plus he had 10 sacks, an interception and a sack.

He is an athlete as he also played a little bit of offense by running the ball 47 times for 233 yards and he is on the varsity basketball team for Los Alamitos.

Locher could be the last commit for Boise State as B.J. Raines of the Idaho Press-Tribune was reporting Saturday night that there might be one more player to add.
