San Diego State is taking its running game against Cincinnati's passing attack in a game that has the potential be a shoot out. Both teams are starting backup quarterbacks with the Bearcats starting Hayden Moore as Gunner Kiel is out due to personal reasons, and the Aztecs are starting Christian Chapman in place of Maxwell Smith who tore his ACL in last November.
Moore is less of a newbie starter as he played in eight games this year for the Bearcats, and Chapman just seven total quarters this year.
The actual key matchup is the San Diego State pass defense and the Cincinnati rush defense. The Aztecs give up just 176 yards through the air but they have not seen an attack like what they are facing Thursday night. The Bearcats allow 190 yards per game.
Location/time: Honolulu Stadium, Honolulu, 8 p.m. ET
Odds: San Diego State -2.5
