Webb shines as Boise State thumps Bradley

James Webb III added to his highlight reel Sunday as the high-flying junior led the Broncos to its fifth consecutive win.

James Webb scored a career-high 31 points, grabbed eight rebounds and recorded four steals  to guide Boise State to a 90-70 win Sunday. Four other Broncos finished in double figures; Nick Duncan (11), Lonnie Jackson (10), Mikey Thompson (12), and Chandler Hutchison (11). Dwayne "D-Lo" Lautier-Ogunleye led Bradley with 17.

With the victory, Boise State improves to 8-4 on the season and helped the Mountain West clinch this year's Missouri Valley-Mountain West Challenge.

Although Boise State was unable to reach the 100-point plateau for the fourth time this season, the Broncos offense was productive against Bradley.

The Broncos attacked the basket early and often Sunday afternoon, scoring 42 points in the paint. The relentless pursuit in the paint led to 34 free throw attempts, in which 28 were converted. Boise State avoided turnovers as well, only turning the ball over six times. The home team also scored 24 points off of Bradley turnovers

After falling behind 3-1, Boise State led the rest of the game and as much as 29 with five minutes remaining in the game.

James Webb III had a number of highlight plays for the Broncos in his career day. Webb slammed home a fast-break tomahawk, an alley-oop from Mikey Thompson, and a jam inside assisted by Chandler Hutchison.

Boise State has 10 days off before its final non-conference game against UC Davis (4-5) on December 30th. With a victory over UC Davis, the Broncos would improve to 9-4 after a 3-4 start to the season.
