With the Mountain West title game location set with San Diego State hosting Air Force next Saturday and with that the early odds are out for this game. The initial line was the Aztecs favored by 3.5 points but in short order it has risen to 5.5 points for San Diego State.
Outside of being give the typical home field for San Diego State they are riding an eight-game winning streak where as Air Force fell victim to New Mexico and has lost two conference games.
However, seeing the line increase in favor of the Aztecs after the opening line is puzzling since starting quarterback Maxwell Smith's status against Air Force is in question after suffering a knee injury against Nevada.
With Smith out, that means San Diego State will be going with redshirt freshman Christian Chapman will be starting next week. In relief against Nevada he completed 6 of 9 passes for 44 yards.
As for a pick, we will hold off until later this week when the line stabilizes and we get a better update on Smith's injury.
