Week 13 Mountain West football power rankings: San Diego State keeps on rolling

San Diego State remains at the top spot for the second straight week and the big moves were both Colorado Sate and Boise State, but in opposite directions.

San Diego State somehow has quietly achieved a 7-0 record in conference play and is playing it is first Mountain West title game, and naturally they remain at the top of the latest rankings with another blow out win. The surprise this week -- at least a mild one -- was that Air Force defeated Boise State to clinch the Mountain Division and will play the Aztecs, still TBD on location.

Boise State's loss drops them further in the rankings and it is their third loss in four games against teams that run a a triple-option offense, and nearly four as New Mexico was very close to upsetting the Broncos last year. That is why San Jose State head coach Ron Caragher joked (at least we think it was) about installing that offense for this week's game against the Broncos.

Here are this weeks rankings with San Diego State not being a unanimous number one pick.

1. San Diego State LW: 1 (12) West
2. Air Force  LW: 2 (1) Mountain
3. Utah State LW: 6 Mountain
4. Colorado State LW: 7 Mountain
5. New Mexico LW: 3 Mountain
6. Boise State LW: 3 Mountain
7. Nevada LW: 5 West
8. San Jose State LW: 8 West
9. UNLV LW: 9 West
10. Fresno State LW: 10 West
11. Wyoming LW: 12 Mountain
12. Hawaii LW: 11 West
