It was the Utah State Aggies home opener of the season, and they did not disappoint. After defeating Weber State on the road Friday night, the team took care of Adams State, 83-68. This was also the first home win under head coach Tim Duryea.
The Aggies did not have a soild night from three point range, but overall they did shoot 51.7 percent. Chris Smith led all players with 21 points along with seven rebounds and a couple of assists. Jalen Moore had a rebound night, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
The struggle for the Aggies continues to be free throw shooting. They shot only 61 percent from the free throw line this evening. Free throw shooting has been a problem for the team for the past few seasons. Even though it didn't affect the win all that much, this is something that the team will have to work on if they want to win ball games.
The Aggies remain at home as they get set to take on Union (Tenn.) on Friday. Tip-off will be at 7:00 pm MT.
