This is a light week in Mountain West football but that does not mean that we are taking a break on our picks, and things get underway on Friday night.

This is a huge line that increased from 23.5 points to a four-touchdowns in favor of Utah State. That line is increasing with Wyoming suffering injuries to starting quarterback Cameron Coffman and wide receiver Tanner Gentry is likely out as well. That is a lot of points but look for Utah State to win but not cover this game, and it very likely will be due to Cowboys running back Brian Hill getting yards and keeping the clock moving.

San Diego State is going on the road and looking to continue their rise to the top of the conference. The Rams have been an inconsistent team and have played to the level of their competition, and that can somewhat be said for the Aztecs but they blew out the Aggies last week. This 3.5-point line makes the game tough to decide on since the Rams have an offense but their defense is lacking, especially in the run game. My pick is San Diego State to win and cover this matchup but this more than likely will not be a double-digit victory over the Rams.

Another large line this week with Boise State traveling to UNLV, and the number seems about right. The Rebels have shown the ability to hang relatively close in games against much better opponents such as Michigan, UCLA and Northern Illinois. Look for the Broncos to barely cover this game against the Rebels and it could be a game where Boise State gets out to an early lead and just holds on to that with exchanging scores in the line of touchdowns to field goals to break open the game.

Playing at Hawaii is tough for any team and that is why this game is just under a touchdown in favor for Air Force. Gotta go with the Falcons here as they finally seemed to find their pecking order at running back with Jacobi Owens being the primary back. With Owens getting the bulk the rest can be spread out among four to six backs and ride out the victory. Give me Air Force and the points.
