Boise State football: Donte Deayon out a month with knee injury

The Broncos took a major hit to their secondary as starting cornerback Donte Deayon is out with a knee inquiry.

The Boise State Broncos secondary suffered a blow as starting conrerback Donte Deayon will be sidelined for at least a month with a knee injury. Deayon had minor surgery to repair his knee but that will cost him most of the regular season.

Defensive coordinator Marcel Yates said on Monday that Deayon has not practiced in weeks, and the injury first occurred against Colorado State on a hit he took on a punt return. Deayon has been having a great year so far with four interceptions and seven pass breakups in the first half of this year.

As for who will be starting in his place, Yates has not yet announced who will be on the field for Deayon but the latest depth chart for Boise State has Raymond Ford or Tyler Horton listed this week heading into the game against the Wyoming Cowboys.

The Boise State defense overall has been very solid and even though losing Deayon is a big blow there is enough depth and other surrounding talent to keep this defense running very close to what it has all year.
