Homecoming events are underway this weekend in Albuquerque as the University of New Mexico takes on the University of Hawaii in college football. But why wait until tomorrow to see all of the action? Come down to the Pit tonight to catch your first glimpse of the women and men's basketball teams. The gates open at 6, and the Lady Lobos start the event at 7; the men follow at 8. And to top it all off, admission is free.

What can Lobo fans expect to see tonight? Light scrimmaging, shooting and dribbling drills, a three-point contest, and a slam dunk contest. Who are your favorites to win the three-point contest? I'm going with Cullen Neal. How about the dunk contest?

Above all, this is the fans' first opportunity to see players like Tim Williams and Elijah Brown in a Lobos uniform. Williams was named Mountain West Preseason Newcomer of the Year, and the Samford transfer should have a huge impact on the team this year. He and Brown, another transfer from Butler, could very well find themselves in the starting lineup come opening night.

On the women's side, fans should come out and celebrate senior forward Khadijah Wright's recent selection to the College Sports Madness' All-Mountain West First Team.

Overall, it should be a fun evening full of different events. However, if you're not convinced yet, check out the videos below.
