UNLV to host its own NBA Combine

UNLV follows the trend of LSU and Kentucky by hosting their own NBA Combine.

Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

UNLV is following the latest trends that Kentucky and LSU start which is to host a NBA combine on their campus. The Rebels will host this event on October 23 and 24th at their newish practice facility Mendenhall Center. There is plenty of talent coming into Las Vegas and that means that scouts from the entire NBA will be there to look at the talent.

This talent starts with current freshman Stephen Zimmerman who is expected to be a one-and-done lottery pick for the 2016 NBA Draft. There is other potential NBA talent in Las Vegas such as Goodluck Okonoboh, Patrick McCaw, Dwayne Morgan Jr. and Derrick Jones.

This is a great event to hold and it is all likely tied back to recruiting because this event, if it becomes an annual one, could lure even better talent to UNLV and elevate the program to the next level.

However, for UNLV they can keep getting all of the talent, but the coaching staff needs to get results on the car.
