Week 7 Mountain West football odds: No double digit lines this week

There are six games again this week and every single line is less than 10 points.

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The latest Mountain West odds are out for Week 7 and for the second straight week it is all conference games with a few on Friday and Saturday.

BOISE STATE BRONCOS @ UTAH STATE AGGIES
9:00 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
Boise State (5-1) (2-1 A) W-4 -8 -9.5 76% n/a n/a
Utah State (3-2) (2-0 H) W-2 48.0 46.5 24% n/a n/a

Utah State may very well be the second best team in the conference but they have struggled a lot when they played Boise State, including not defeating them since 1997. Boise State has won 12 in a row and by an average score of 47.75 to 20.08. This line is somewhat odd at just under 10, even with the Aggies at home, and gotta go with history and what we have seen this year with Boise State winning and covering.

UNLV REBELS @ FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS
10:30 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
UNLV (2-4) (1-2 A) L-1 55.0 -6.5 63% n/a n/a
Fresno State (1-5) (1-2 H) L-5 -1 55.5 37% n/a n/a

Serious question: How was Fresno State favored at all? That changed quickly with a 7.5-point swing with UNLV being the first road favorite in a very, very long time. Quarterback is still a mess with the Bulldogs and the Rebels are vastly improved, and this is actually a tough call to make. I am going with UNLV to not only win but cover this game, but not too confident in the covering part because again this is UNLV we are talking about.

NEVADA WOLF PACK @ WYOMING COWBOYS
4:00 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
Nevada (3-3) (1-1 A) W-1 -7 -7 90% n/a n/a
Wyoming (0-6) (0-3 H) L-6 51.5 51.5 10% n/a n/a

Poor, poor Briah Hill, and really most of the Wyoming offense. They have the potential on offense but their defense is letting them down. Nevada seems to be playing well enough on offense to be able to win this game and win by more than a touchdown.

AIR FORCE FALCONS @ COLORADO STATE RAMS
3:30 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
Air Force (3-2) (0-2 A) W-1 PK -3 98% n/a n/a
Colorado State (2-4) (1-3 H) L-2 54.0 54 2% n/a n/a

The loser of this game is all but out of the Mountain Division race and should be a good one. It rightfully opened up as a pickem but the Falcons are a field goal road favorite over the Rams. This one is hard to call so lets go with Colorado State at the very least to cover this game. They can win if Rashard Higgins goes off for a big game, which is very possible.

HAWAII WARRIORS @ NEW MEXICO LOBOS
7:00 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
Hawaii (2-4) (0-3 A) L-3 53.0 50 12% n/a n/a
New Mexico (3-3) (2-1 H) L-1 -3 -5.5 88% n/a n/a

Hawaii is another team that is struggling and the loser of this game is pretty much out of bowl contention, and more so for the Warriors who need seven wins whereas New Mexico needs only six. It is not too often any calls for New Mexico and the points, but that is my pick.

SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS @ SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS
10:30 PM Game Time Record Line Betting Trend
Teams Win-Loss Streak Open Current Spread Money O/U
San Diego State (3-3) (1-2 A) W-2 49.0 48.5 53% n/a n/a
San Jose State (3-3) (2-0 H) W-1 -2 -2.5 47% n/a n/a

This is a much watch game as we get to see two of the best running backs in the conference squaring off. Donnel Pumphrey looked fine despite having an ankle injury against Hawaii and Tyler Ervin is one of the best backs in the nation. The key is the defense and San Diego State has that edge, so my pick leans toward San Diego State winning and covering the 2.5 points. The Spartans rush defense is not good and might fail them in this game.
