Marvelle Harris led the Fresno State Bulldogs with 18 points and seven rebounds, and he drained five of six free throws down the stretch to help the home team to a 61-52 win against the Utah State Aggies on Wednesday night.
Harris was one of three 'Dogs to finish with double-digit points, as Julien Lewis and Alex Davis contributed 15 and 14, respectively. Fresno shot a scintillating 48% from the floor for the game, well above the 37.4% which USU had allowed to date, and it includes a 57% clip in the first half that the Aggies simply could not match. In particular, Davis was a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor and had three blocks as well, including a crucial swat midway through the second half when USU had whittled the Fresno lead to three points.
Utah State's forwards led the way for the visitors, as Jalen Moore led the Aggies with 17 points and seven rebounds and David Collette added 16 and 5. The duo did not get much help from the rest of the starting lineup, however, as Darius Perkins, Julion Pearre and Chris Smith combined to shoot just 4-of-20 from the floor.
