When safeties coach David Brown left the Wyoming football program after the season, it was up to head coach Craig Bohl to find a quality replacement for his staff. He has done just that in hiring Curt Mallory (45) to be his next safeties coach/pass game coordinator.
Mallory comes to Wyoming from the University of Michigan where he coached the Wolverines defensive backs this past season. He has also been an assistant at Ball State (2000-2001), Central Michigan (2002-2004), Indiana (2005-2006), Illinois (2007-2009), Akron (2010) and Michigan (2011-2014).
Mallory is the son of former college head coach Bill Mallory (Indiana, Miami (OH), Colorado and Northern Illinois). He played high school football at Bloomington (IN) South High School.
Mallory's older brothers, Mike and Doug Mallory played college football at the University of Michigan. In February 1988, and despite having an offer to play for his father at Indiana, Mallory announced that, like his older brothers, he had committed to Michigan. He played under legendary head coach Bo Schembechler in 1989 and under head coach Gary Moeller in 1990.
He was responsible for recruiting the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for Michigan but his new recruiting territories are to be determined at Wyoming.
