Four-star quarterback Brett Rypien officially signed on the dotted line late Monday night to become the first official member of the 2015 class for the Boise State Broncos. The Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington, signal caller signing early was more of a formality with his high school to make sure all of the paperwork was done so that he could graduate in December.

Rypien will join Boise State in January and with the early start has a chance to, just maybe, compete for the starting job with Ryan Finley. Signing his financial aid agreement removes a big obstacle out of the way.

"I feel really relieved to be honest. It's been a stressful past month trying to get this figured out. My school has never had this situation before," Rypien told Bronco Country Monday night. "It's nice to know I'm in. Bronco Nation knows that I'm true to my word," he said. "It's great to officially be a part of Bronco Nation. I'm excited to get down on campus and get going."

Getting a big time recruit to enroll early at Boise State and shun the other offers which included Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, Mississippi State and other large programs which were interested. This may or may not push Boise State back to the spotlight of finishing in the top-15 and competing to make it to and going to big time bowl games under former head coach Chris Petersen, but head coach Bryan Harsin has done a great job on campus getting high level talent to commit to Boise State.

With Rypien in the fold perhaps he can be a recruiter himself for Boise State and try to talk to some of the other bigger name recruits to follow him to Boise State before he enrolls in January.

Rypien is extremely excited to get start at Boise State, he attended his first-ever Boise State game a few weeks ago and fell in love with the game day atmosphere, future teammates and coaches.
