UNLV basketball recruiting: Justin Robinson has Rebels on final list, to decide in October

A 2015 3-star point guard out of Virginia may be coming to Las Vegas to play for Dave Rice.

Justin Robinson is the 22nd best point guard in the class of 2015 according to 247 Sports, and he could be coming to UNLV.

The Rebels are in the final four for Robinson, and it looks like Dave Rice will get a chance to make the final impression. Robinson is scheduled to take an official visit to UNLV on Oct. 3, nine days before he commits to a school. According to 247, he does not have any other visits planned.

Robinson hasn’t been very busy taking visits, as he’s only been on three since June – an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech on June 3, an unofficial visit to Maryland on June 25 and then back to Blacksburg on an official visit to Virginia Tech on August 30. 247 Sports’ crystal ball has Robinson at 87 percent to choose Virginia Tech.

If UNLV were to land Robinson, it could bolster a position lacking in depth. Cody Doolin is the only true point guard on the roster for the 2014-15 roster after Daquan Cook tore an ACL and will miss the upcoming season.

Cook will likely be back for the 2015-16 season, but Robinson could find some time at point guard as a true freshman.
