According to multiple sources including the San Diego Union-Tribune's Mark Zeigler, four-star basketball prospect Rex Pflueger has verbally committed to Notre Dame over San Diego State.

Pflueger, whose top five schools were Cal, Washington State, Texas A&M, SDSU and Notre Dame, visited Notre Dame last weekend and announced his commitment today via his Twitter.

The four-star prospect from Mater Dei High School visited SDSU the weekend of August 30, attending events such as the SDSU football's home opener and the SDSU basketball ALS ice bucket challenge.

This commitment comes as a surprise, as many in the college basketball community believed Pflueger would commit to SDSU. For instance, 75 percent of all the experts who made predictions on 247sports.com's "The Crystal Ball" had Pflueger picking SDSU, and 25 percent had him picking USC.

Pflueger, standing 6'5" and weighing 180 pounds, received four stars from Rivals.com and 247sports.com, and three stars from ESPN.com. Rivals.com ranked him the 97th-best prospect in the class of 2015.
