Yes, you read correctly. According to GoAztecs.com's Darin Wong, for the first time since January 24, 2005, ESPN will air an San Diego State men's basketball home game. SDSU's home game against Utah will be featured as a part of ESPN's Seventh Annual Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. This marathon consists of over 24 consecutive hours of college basketball coverage from Monday, November 17 to Tuesday, November 18, including 19 total men's and women's college basketball games.
And no, SDSU didn't get the short end of the stick and get assigned to ESPNU. Aztec fans, college basketball fans and potential high school recruits around the country will be able to see the Aztecs play their defensive brand of basketball on ESPN--the nation's biggest sports channel. The game will air after Wichita State vs. Memphis and before Toledo vs. VCU.
This is a great SDSU game to air, as Utah might be the team's toughest non-conference opponent. Utah guard Delon Wright is on just about every preseason watch list, and his teammates senior Dallin Bachynski (7'0", 258 pounds) and junior Jordan Loveridge (6'6", 210 pounds combine with Wright to form a very formidable "Big 3."
This will be SDSU's home game in SDSU and Utah's 2014-15 home-and-home series. The Aztecs will travel to the Utes' home next year.
The game will air Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. PT. So students, talk to your teachers now, because you probably want "The Show" to put on a show for ESPN's far-reaching cameras.
