San Diego State football staff predictions: Best game of the 2014 season

It seemed like every week featured a nail-biting thriller--especially against SDSU's two main rivals: Fresno State and Boise State. That would be hard to duplicate this year, but crazier things have happened.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it seemed like San Diego State was always knotted in a close affair last year. In fact, SDSU tied an FBS record by playing four overtime games. From the expected thrillers against Boise State and Fresno State to the unexpected tight game against Hawaii, SDSU games were never easy on fans' hearts.

This year, all of SDSU's "big" games are road games, whereas most of its "easy" games are at home. Aztec players and coaches alike hope that, this year, only those big road games are the only nail-biters. But hey, what's the fun in that?

Lots of times, fans identify the closest games as the best games. But that's not the only way for a game to be the "best." Oftentimes, rivalries are considered the best games regardless of the score.

Let's take a look at what our SDSU staff thinks will be the best game of the Aztecs' 2014 season.
