Colorado State landed a junior college linebacker out of Glendale Community College in Arizona, per Jason Jewell of Scout.com.

This name should sound familiar to Rams fans, as Mayes originally committed to Colorado State out of high school, however, ended up having to take the junior college route before being eligible to enroll at Colorado State. Mayes' commitment makes him the 6th recruit to pledge to play for the Rams next season. Mayes is also the 4th Colorado commitment for the Rams, as he is originally from Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado.
Mayes will be a big addition to an already talented linebacker core. Mayes is an aggressive linebacker that excels at rushing the quarterback. With good speed, he forces quarterbacks to make early decisions while hitting them in the process. Mayes is also a sound tackler who hits hard and doesn't miss many tackles, whether it is in the backfield or in open space.
Overall, Ram fans should be excited about the addition of Mayes, who will finally make it to Fort Collins after a two year detour. Mayes has the size and speed to come in and be an impact player the first time he steps on the field in a Rams uniform.
