The Colorado Stare football team had three players leave practice on Tuesday, all of them with apparent leg injuries. Running back Dee Hart and wide out Elroy Masters left with ankle injuries, while freshman lineman Jordan Benson left with a more severe leg injury.

Hart, who transferred from Alabama, is competing for carries and has been a bright spot in the Ram's backfield this fall. Masters, who played well in Colorado State's previous scrimmage, has been showing off his talent in a crowded wide receiver group. Hart returned to practice on Wednesday, but was held out of contact drills. He is questionable for next Friday's game against Colorado. Masters hasn't returned to practice and his status for next Friday is unknown.

Head coach Jim McElwain is not sure of Hart's or the others status for the Rocky Mountain Showdown against Colorado. "I'm still not quite sure, but it speaks kind of volumes for those two guys; they're going to do everything they can to get back, and that's a good thing."

The running back spot is extremely thin with the top three running backs gone it is imperative that Hart see's the field against rival Colorado. Hart has been with running with the second unit in camp but he has been impressive and it seems a matter of time before he takes over the starting job.
