2015 Boise State football recruiting: LB Kyler Manu flips to Washington

Three-star linebacker Kyler Manu flips to Washington after being committed to Boise State since April.

Otto Kitsinger III

Boise State lost out on three-star linebacker Kyler Manu on Monday to the Washington Huskies. Manu had been verbally committed to the Broncos since early April, but former Boise State head coach Chris Petersen was able to poach away the Idaho native.

Washington had always been in the running for Manu when he made his decision to attend Boise State, along with Wisconsin. Petersen had been recruiting Manu when he was at Boise State and continued to do so when he left Boise for Seattle. Manu's decision to flip schools came when he took a visit to Seattle a few weeks ago, and that is when things started to change.

This is a reasonably big loss for Boise State to lose out on a local product who was as highly rated as he was by being rated a three-star prospect across the board.

With this decommitment, Boise State is now down to eight players in their 2015 recruiting class, and also down to just one verbally committed linebacker.
