Colorado State releases 2014-2015 Basketball schedule

The non-conference schedule includes the annual battle with Pac 12 foe Colorado and a tournament during the Holiday season.

Ethan Miller

Colorado State released their 2014-15 basketball schedule this week, highlighted by the Great Alaska Shootout which occurs around the Thanksgiving holiday. Colorado State will face Missouri State in the first round of the tournament and will be on the same side of the bracket as host Alaska-Anchorage and Pacific.

The other real highlight for the Rams during the non-conference portion of their schedule will be the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown match-up with the Colorado Buffaloes. The Rams will be looking to knock off Colorado in Boulder for the first time since 2006. The Buffaloes are one of the upper echelon teams in the Pac 12.

The Rams will open up the conference portion of their schedule hosting the Boise State Broncos.  The toughest stretch for Larry Eustachy's team during conference play will be the second week in February when they play UNLV and New Mexico at home the same week followed by a trip to conference powerhouse San Diego State. The Rams will be road tested heading into the Mountain West Tournament as they play Nevada and Utah State away from Fort Collins leading into the Mountain West Tournament.
