Preseason college football rankings: Zero Mountain West teams make initial coaches poll

Zero Mountain West teams made the initial coaches poll, and only Fresno State and Boise State earned points.

The newly named Amway Coaches Poll -- insert pyramid scheme joke here -- released its initial preseason top 25 poll, Thursday afternoon. To the shock of no one there are zero Mountain West teams ranked in the initial rankings. The top of the poll is filled with the usual suspects with Florida State ranked No. 1 as they try to repeat as national champions. The SEC is well represented in the top 10 with three teams being lead by Alabama at No. 2

The Mountain West is getting some considerations in the others receiving votes category with only Boise State and Fresno State earn some publicity. The Broncos led the way with 13 points and Fresno State had four, and oddly missing is Utah State. Zero non- teams make the cut.
