San Diego State Football: DB J.J. Whittaker and OL Terry Poole named to Sporting News' All-Mounatin West first team

Whittaker and Poole find themselves on another preseason All-MWC team, adding another preseason accolade to their collection.

According to GoAztecs.com, Sporting News named San Diego State defensive back J.J. Whittaker and offensive lineman Terry Poole to its All-Mountain West first team.

This is Whittaker's seventh preseason accolade--good for most on the team. He's also on Lindy's Sports' All-MWC first team, Athlon Sports' All-MWC first team and Phil Steele's All-MWC first team. Lindy's Sports also named Whittaker the conference's "Best Cover Corner" and a "Player to Watch." Whittaker was also one of 39 defensive backs named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list.

This is Poole's first All-MWC first team selection, and his fourth overall preseason accolade. He's also on the preseason All-MWC second team of Athlon Sports, Lindy's Sports and Phil Steele.

Sporting News also named SDSU Head Coach Rocky Long the MWC's "Best Interview." I must say, any press conference with him is a fun one.
