This summer the Mountain West Connection crew is counting down the top 50 players heading into the 2014 Mountain West season. The criteria is objective because a top 50 list could be considered who's the best is different per person, so this list will vary.
The No. 45 player in our countdown is Colorado State tight end Kivon Cartwright. Last year, Cartwright was the backup to Crockett Gilmore and even though he was not starting, Cartwright caught 27 receptions for 462 yards and six touchdowns. That was good enough to be the third in the Mountain West for tight ends.
This year, Cartwright had a very good chance to be the best tight end in the league with Garrett Grayson returning as quarterback for the Rams.
