The Outland Trophy released its list of interior linemen to watch today, and the one name from the Mountain West might come as some surprise: Fresno State guard Cody Wichmann.
Wichmann, a senior from Mariposa, has been a starter on the Bulldogs offensive line for the better part of the last three seasons, though. This means that he's seen plenty of action as part of Fresno's high-powered offense in that time:
Did you know that Sr. Cody Wichmann has played in the 2nd most snaps (2,824) of any offensive linemen in the FBS. pic.twitter.com/Js5WtzZ1oX

Last year, he was an honorable mention among the all-MWC selections, part of an offensive line that allowed just eleven sacks all season. Before that, he was part of the effort that help former Bulldog running back Robbie Rouse become the school's all-time leading rusher. He will be expected to lead the line now that Austin Westworth has moved and keep Derek Carr's successor on his feet.
