Thursday, the match-ups for the Championship rounds of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic were announced. The tournament which will be taking place on Nov. 21 and 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y will feature UNLV, Duke, Stanford and Temple
UNLV is slated to play Stanford at 7 pm ET on Friday with Duke and Temple set to tip off a half hour after that game concludes. The winners will meet on Saturday following the third-place game. All these games will be televised on TruTV.
The opportunity to play the Blue Devils for the first time since the 1991 Final Four defeat was a major story-line for UNLV going into the event. If the Rebels hope to make that match-up a reality, they will almost certainly have to win, as Duke will surely be a favorite against Temple and a consolation game between the two teams seems highly unlikely.
The Coaches vs.Cancer Classic benefits the American Cancer Society's fight against the disease. The American Cancer Society will receive the proceeds from all the games "to support it's mission to save more lives and help finish the fight against cancer." Similar to other tournaments, all teams will host a pair of games at home against other opponents leading into the event.
