Colorado State's basketball team has gone from good news, to bad news, to good news again this week.
The good news: point guard Bubu Palo has committed to transfer to Colorado State from Iowa State for his senior year, if he is granted a 6th year of eligibility from the NCAA.
The bad news: starting senior point guard Jon Octeus has announced that he will transfer for his final season of eligibility. Octeus was the Ram's third leading scorer last season, averaging 13.4 points per game. This decision has come as a surprise for Rams fans, as there has been no information as to why Octeus is leaving the program for his final season.
Back to the good news: point guard Prentiss Nixon for Bolingbrook High School in Bolingbrook, Illinois, has announced his commitment to the Rams basketball program. With offers from SMU, Saint Louis, Drake and five other schools, Nixon has decided that Colorado State is the best fit for him. The three star point guard (per Scout and ESPN) has the ability to not only manage the Rams offense, but has the ability to shut down opposing point guards as well.
With the news of Nixon's commitment to Colorado State, fans should be excited about adding another quality guard to the 2015 class. Shooting guard Anthony Bonner from Lawrence, Kansas, was the Rams first commitment for the class of 2015, and Nixon and Bonner should pair very well together for the next four years in Fort Collins.
