According to GoAztecs.com, San Diego State football has established a home-and-home series with Arizona beginning in 2021.
The Aztecs and Wildcats will first play Sept. 11, 2021, in Tucson. The teams will finish the series the following year on Sept. 3, 2022, at Qualcomm Stadium.
With this home-and-home series, the Aztec football team will play at least one Pac-12 team in every season up through 2022. SDSU plays at Oregon State this year. It then begins a home-and-home series with California in 2015, playing first at Cal. Then, in 2017, the Aztecs will begin a home-and-home series with Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona. In 2019, SDSU begins its most anticipated home-and-home series with UCLA, playing the first game at the Rose Bowl and hosting the Bruins in 2020. SDSU will also play at Penn State in 2015.
SDSU football is the only California school other than Stanford to be on a current four-year bowl game streak. The Aztecs are also raking in recruit after recruit in the last few weeks. So with these two pieces of information in mind, one thing is very clear: SDSU is making a name for itself in west coast college football, and these future games against Pac-12 schools will give SDSU wonderful opportunities to rapidly ascend like its basketball program did.
