Tyler Larsen
Physical Specs: 6'4" - 313 lbs.
Utah State has boasted several NFL caliber players over the past few years, and Center Tyler Larsen appears to be the next big name on that list. Larsen is a three-time 1st Team All-MWC selection, one of only nine players in school history to accomplish the feat. He was also a Remington Award finalist his senior year.
Larsen boasts one of the most experienced resumes in this year's draft, having started over 50 consecutive games to close out his college career. His experience is one of his greatest strengths, as he has shown consistency at a high level of performance. His snaps are always on target and he shows excellent discipline. He functions equally well on run blocking and pass protection. He has also proven himself to be an outstanding leader on and off the field. His size, downhill blocking speed, intelligence and strength position him very well to continue to be an effective producer on the field at the next level.
One of the weaknesses he will have to overcome is his short arm length; he occasionally has difficulty sustaining blocks against elite tackles. He also struggles to recover position once displaced. Overall, his sheer size, combined with his experience, make him a desirable pick, most likely as a backup who can be groomed to take over a starting spot in two to three years.
