The 16 total Mountain West players drafted in 2014 ties both the 2005 and 2009 seasons with the 16 players selected in each of those two years. Those 2014 drafted players were mentioned here a few days ago. This year is also the fifth time in the last six years, and ninth overall, that 10 or more MW players were taken in the NFL Draft.

This season will go on record as one the of most successful draft seasons for the Mountain West Conference. The Mountain West’s 16 picks are the sixth-most among all FBS leagues, and right behind the Big 12.  In additon to the 16 drafted players, at least 32 others as have signed with teams and are headed for careers in the NFL.  You can follow more on the MW free agents here. So far, 18 NFL teams have signed free agents from the MWC.
