The No. 4 seeded San Diego St. Aztecs are going up against No. 13 seeded New Mexico St. Aggies in the late set of games on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA tournament (I will never call it round two). New Mexico State made it this far by winning automatic bid out of the very different looking WAC.
The Aggies are led by literal giant in 7-foot-5 center Sim Bhullar as well as their other big men with Tshilidzi Nephawe (6'10", 265 lbs.) and Renaldo Dixon (6'9", 215 lbs). San Diego State has played against multiple trees this season when they played New Mexico who have Alex Kirk and Cameron Bairstow.
If New Mexico State plays more than one of those players at a time look for head coach Steve Fisher to up the tempo with his athletic players and force the Aggies to change their lineup or get run out of the gym.
This is a game that the Aztecs should easily win for San Diego State, but after last year's debacle against Florida Gulf Coast you better believe that the Aztecs will be ready.
