Nevada will be left out of bowl game if Fresno State wins Mountain West

Nevada will be cheering for Boise State to win Saturday night's Mountain West title game.

The Mountain West has seven bowl eligible teams and there is a chance that one of the teams could be left on the outside looking team. That team is Nevada. The Wolf Pack can be left out if Fresno State happens to upset the Broncos in the Mountain West title game.

"If Boise State loses tonight Nevada will be left out of a bowl," Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson said prior to title game.

The reason that Nevada would be left out is because the Cactus bowl which serves as a backup slot for the Mountain West was a possibility, but Oklahoma State's upset victory over Oklahoma gave the Big 12 enough teams to fill that bowl game.

This puts Nevada fans in a bind since they do not like Boise State, but if the team wants to go to a bowl game then cheer on the Broncos they must. This also means that if the Wolf Pack do go to a bowl game then they are likely going to the New Mexico Bowl.

One other option is that if the Armed Forces Bowl picks up Air Force, who does want them, but that may require a trade.

If Nevada does go to a bowl game then the Mountain West will have a record seven teams in the post season.
