Fresno State vs. UC Irvine game preview: Can the Bulldogs get a much needed win

Can Fresno State get a win over a 4-2 UC Irvine team?

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Fresno State fans, you've been through a lot in just seven games. Yes, Bulldog faithful, Fresno State will go to battle tonight against a 4-2 UC Irvine team that is fresh off of an 8 point victory from Loyola Marymount. Fresno State is coming off of a five game losing streak, most recently to the likes of the California Golden Bears. The Bulldogs, well, could really use this one.

The Anteaters of UC Irvine hold teams to an impressive 60.2 points a game which ranks 76th in the nation. This does not go well for the Bulldogs as they average just 58.0 points a game. Which by the way ranks a horrifying 324th annually. It seems as though the only player that can get anything going offensively is Fresno is Junior guard Marvelle Harris, who scored 27 against California.

Look for the Anteaters to use their size, and boy do they have it. 7-6 sophomore center Mamadou Ndiaye from Senegal is a beast. He put up 21 points in their last contest, and the tallest player on Fresno State is 6-9 freshman Eugene Artison, who will be lucky to see any time tonight.
