No. 19 San Diego State vs. Cincinnati final score: Aztecs commit 18 turnovers, lose 71-62

The Aztecs haven't put it together for a full 40 minutes yet.

The San Diego State Aztecs (7-3) lost tonight on the road to the Cincinnati Bearcats (7-2) 71-62 in overtime. Cincinnati outscored SDSU 14-5 in the overtime period.

The Aztecs made life difficult for themselves all night with their 18 turnovers, but the Bearcats just played better basketball tonight.

Cincinnati shot 47 percent, opposed to SDSU's 42 percent. It also out-rebounded SDSU by five.

The Bearcats saw a leader emerge on the court tonight in Farad Cobb, who scored all of his 12 points in the second half.

The Aztecs forced the overtime period with an Aqeel Quinn 3-pointer, a Trey Kell 3-pointer and two clutch free throws by Winston Shepard in the last minute of regulation.

Shepard had himself a night, scoring 17 points, grabbing four boards and dishing three assists. But his five turnovers killed the Aztecs in some critical moments.

Quinn played in his first game since breaking his finger against Arizona in Maui. He finished with six points, two steals and two rebounds.

SDSU will most likely see itself fall out of the top 25 next week. It has no currently ranked opponents on the rest of its schedule.
