The No. 20 ranked Boise State Broncos are going to be underdogs in the Fiesta Bowl if the betting lines hold. The opening lines between the Broncos and the #10 Arizona Wildcats opened Monday with Arizona a 4-point favorite. That has since dropped to 3 points over the Broncos. That’s just the kind of odds a blue collar team like Boise State likes---the kind that puts a chip on their shoulders and with something to prove.
Boise State is 7-6 against the spread and Arizona is 5-8. But the Boise State offense has been firing on all cylinders the last 8 games and has racked up a series of strong finishes and are now ranked the 14th best total offense in the nation. They go up against Arizona’s #74 pass defense and #121 rated rush defense. Expect the Wildcats to fall short of keeping Broncos QB Grant Hedrick and the J-train corralled.
All-time bowl records: Boise State, 9-5-0; Arizona, 8-9-1.
