Boise State lands Texas running back

The available pool of good football talent in the Lone Star State has gotten a little smaller this week after Arlington (Texas) High running back Raymond Sheard, 6-1, 200 lbs, committed to the Broncos following an official visit to Boise State on Sunday. He is the fourth recruit and the second Texas player this week to commit to the Broncos. He was receiving interest from Texas, Baylor and had an offer from Texas State at the time of his commitment.

Sheard runs the 40 yard dash in 4.40 seconds. So far this season he has rushed 201 times for 1,349 yards, 14 touchdowns, and is averaging 149.9 yards per game according to information from the maxpreps.com site.

The other Texas recruit is safety Kameron (Kam) Miles, 6-2, 215 lbs. Boise State defensive coordinator Marcel Yates recruited him two years ago when Yates was a DC at Texas A&M. Miles was a 4-star player who enrolled at A&M, but ended up at Butler Community College for unspecified reasons.  Miles is a former teammate of both current safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner, and WR commit Akilian Butler at West Mesquite High School. Both had been actively encouraging Miles to come up to Boise for a visit and that led to his commitment as reported here earlier this week.

These two bring the number to twelve of the known commitments to the Boise State 2015 class.
