Colorado State head coach Jim McElwain has led the Rams to unprecedented heights in this season by having them be ranked for the first time since 2003, and just maybe a shot at the Mountain West title game if things fall right. Despite his hefty buyout, which is approximately $7.5 million, other schools are going to be interested.
McElwain is being mentioned as a possibility to replace Will Muschamp at Florida, and his ties from being the offensive coordinator at Alabama for three years as a reason for there being interest in the Gators showing interest in the Colorado State head coach.
Since we live in the 21st century odds can be placed on everything and anything, and that is what Bovada is doing with the open Florida Gators job. McElwain is given the second best odds to land the job. He is narrowly behind current Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy.
These are early odds and there are a lot of factors that can change these odds during Florida's coaching search. However, it seems even with what Florida would have to pay Muschamp and also McElwain's buyout, which is close to $14 million, McElwain is getting a lot more attention to get the job than when it first become available on Sunday.
Here are the complete odds per @BovadaLV
Mike Gundy 4/1
Jim McElwain 9/2
Bob Stoops 11/2
Dan Mullen 11/2
Rich Rodriguez 7/1
Mike Shanahan 7/1
Steve Spurrier 8/1
Hugh Freeze 8/1
Gary Patterson 12/1
Gus Malzahn 12/1
