Defensive end Penaia (Ben) Moa, 6-4, 275 lbs, of Grossmont College in El Cajon, committed to the Broncos Wednesday. The California native of Tongan descent is the older brother of redshirt freshman DL David Moa and both are products of Kearny HS in San Diego.
If Ben Moa’s name sounds familiar it is because in 2012 he originally signed with San Diego State. Moa will finish his year at Grossmont and then join the Broncos next summer in time for fall camp. He plays both defensive tackle and defensive end for Grossmont.
"He is a genuinely good guy with outstanding character," Grossmont Grffins coach Michael Jordan told the Idaho Statesman in an email. "Big body that moves very well. He played on our basketball team also."
Moa gives Boise State 11 verbal commits in the 2015 class.
