For the sixth consecutive season, Lindy's Sports has picked the San Diego State Aztecs to win the Mountain West Conference. Lindy's Sports also predicts that the Aztecs will advance to their sixth straight NCAA Tournament.

The publication also highlighted some individual Aztecs in its season preview.

It named Winston Shepard the preseason MW Player of the Year, a first-team all-MW selection, and the No. 4 small forwards in the country.

Dwayne Polee II earned a spot on Lindy's second-team all-MW and Skylar Spencer was a third-team selection. Lindy's also ranked Spencer as the No. 25 center in the country.

Shooting guard Trey Kell is SDSU's highest-rated freshman, with Lindy's ranking him No. 42 in the class of 2014. Power forward Zylan Cheatham, who will be out after foot surgery possibly until January, was ranked No. 100. Point guard Kevin Zabo and small forward Malik Pope didn't make the top 100, but they're part of what Lindy's ranked the No. 23 recruiting class. According to head coach Steve Fisher, Pope also won't be ready to play by the beginning of the season.
