Nevada ventures back into non-conference as they travel to take on the independent BYU Cougars. While the Wolf Pack are a double-digit favorite, Nevada has a real chance to pull off the road upset. BYU is down to its backup quarterback Christian Stewart but this is his second start, and third game, so he should be in a groove.
However, the running back situation for the Cougars is pretty bad as starter Jamaal Williams' status is uncertain with an ankle injury and one of his backups, Adam Hine, is out with an ankle injury of his own. This could allow for defensive ends Ian Seau and Brock Hekking a chance to slow down the BYU running attack.
Nevada's offense will also have a chance to attack through the air with Cody Fajardo as BYU's secondary is also banged up. The Wolf Pack are catching the Cougars at a low point with the injuries, but it allows a good chance for Nevada to get the upset.
