2015 Wyoming football recruiting: Cowboys pick up their 9th verbal in linebacker Jaylon Watson

Coach Craig Bohl and his staff have landed their 3rd Oklahoma prospect in the 2015 class in linebacker Jaylon Watson.

Wyoming has landed their 9th verbal commitment in 6'2", 230-pound linebacker Jaylon Watson out of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  Watson is the 3rd Oklahoma prospect to commit to the Cowboys following safety Dameko Doddles out of Oklahoma City (Douglass) and center Kaden Jackson out of Kingfisher.

Watson was recruited to Wyoming by running backs coach Mike Bath who has already landed a good share of the 2015 recruiting class for the Cowboys (Hamilton, Missouri running back Kellen Overstreet also a Bath recruit to go with Doddles/Jackson).

The Cowboys are looking to sign 4-5 linebackers in this class and with Watson's verbal they have two now with Kevin Prosser also in the fold.  Watson is also a punishing running back and plays mostly defensive end this season for Broken Bow.

Watson had officially visited Wyoming back on September 6th for the thrilling Air Force victory and thought about committing to the Cowboys then.  After talking things over with his parents he decided to hold off for awhile to let the visit sink in.  In the end Watson knew the Cowboys were the right program for him.

He also had offers from Ohio and Army but his connection to the Wyoming coaching staff was the difference.

Watson may not be the last Oklahoma prospect to commit to the Cowboys as there are still other offers on the table for Sooner State prospects.  Del City slot back Davion Freeman is visiting Laramie officially this coming weekend.
